We wanted to tell our community about something we love – kids! Children’s ministry has been highly important to the life of Bethel for many years, but we’re always attempting to improve ourselves. We have the goal of connecting kids with God at every age group, so we offer multiple ministries including Bethel Blvd. (children’s church), Awana, Missioneers, etc.
As we grow, you’ll notice that though we aren’t changing the ministries we offer too radically, we are consolidating the vision of our children’s ministries under a name that clearly identifies kids as part of our larger church community – the “kids on the hill.”
Bethel is “the church on the hill.” That’s partly because we’re on a hill, but also because of Jesus’ statement that a city set on a hill cannot be hidden. We want our lights to shine, which is the desire we have for the children to whom we minister also. So if your kids don’t have a place to go, we’d love to have them on this hill!

It has hit the news already today that at least 800 employees of Walmart’s home office (located here in Bentonville) have been laid off from their jobs. Here at the church office, we’ve been calling people and checking in on news stories… and praying. We’re praying hard for families affected by this current economic crisis that we find ourselves in. It’s one of the reasons we are aggressively giving away shoes and are in the planning stages of launching a food ministry as well. We want to help, we want to serve, but most importantly we want our community to know, we’re praying!
He has chosen to do most of His work through prayer. In some ways, He has made himself subservient to the prayers of His people. And certainly He has conditioned a good portion of His blessing upon our willingness to pray. ~ David Jeremiah, Prayer: The Great Adventure

One of the ways Bethel reaches out to the northwest Arkansas community is by giving away shoes. Here are some pictures for our giveaway on Saturday, February 7…
