Are you new to the Bentonville area and have children?  Bethel Baptist Church is the place for you on Wednesday nights!  Along with our adult Bible study at 7 we have our Fire Alive youth group at 6:30, AWANA Club at 6:30, and S.M.A.S.H. 56.  AWANA is our children’s program on Wednesday nights for ages kindergarten through 4th grade.  On club nights we focus on God’s Word.  We start with book time.  During this time we read a memorize Bible verses.  The next session we have is our devotional time.  We utilize this part of the evening to share the many inspirational and true stories right out of the Bible.  These lessons are taught on an age level basis so everyone who is present will clearly understand the teachings of the Bible and the plan of salvation.  We also allow time for the kids to ask questions that they might have about our lesson that evening or any question they might have about their salvation.  Where our kids spend their eternity is of the utmost importance to us!

We will begin our 2015-2016 AWANA/S.M.A.S.H. 56 year on September 9th with registration at 6 p.m. and club time begins at 6:30 p.m. in the activity center here at Bethel.  Our club breakdown for the different age groups are:

  • Cubbies: Three and four years of age (after September 1st)
  • Sparks:  Kindergarten through 2nd grade for boys and girls
  • Truth & Training:  Third and 4th grade girls and boys
  • S.M.A.S.H. 56:  5th and 6th grade girls and boys

This year we are starting a new class for the 5th and 6th grade boys and girls called S.M.A.S.H. 56.  This means students ministering and serving Him for 5th and 6th grade,  Our goal is to better prepare this age group for their middle school and junior high years through deeper Bible study.  They will meet at the same time as the AWANA club.

Our AWANA Club/S.M.A.S.H. 56 is open to all children in these age groups.  You do not have to be a member of Bethel church to participate in this program.  If you are interested in our club please feel free to drop by any Wednesday night to visit or contact Gina Tynes by email: or through our contact form below for more information.

In May of 2015 we held our AWANA closing ceremony.  During this time all the kids are recognized for their achievements during the year.  Awards are given out for attendance, books completed, and other accomplishments that were met during the year.  We believe that all the kids should be recognized for their dedication and hard work that they put forth during the year.  To see more pictures of club activities please go to our photo gallery.
